Cellist, performer and writer of words and music, the uncategorisable Zoë Martlew performs around the world as soloist, with contemporary music ensembles, improvisation, film, electronica, multi-media artists and many well known pop and rock artists including Ensemble Modern, London Sinfonietta, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Sir Paul McCartney, Plaid and Radiohead.
Many pieces have been written for her, and later this year she premieres works for cello, electronics and video in Denmark and Iceland, gives recitals in Vietnam as part of the Saigon Chamber Music Festival and performs her acclaimed one woman cabaret Revue Z across the UK and abroad. She studied at the Royal College and Academy of Music, Clare College, Cambridge and the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, is naturally blonde and draws the line at Dutch techno. |
