Finnur Karlsson has been making music from an early age. He has also studied the euphonium, singing and electronic music. He performs regularly with many different bands and choirs. The most notable projects that he is involved with are the balkan ensemble Orphic Oxtra, which has released two records, and the choirs Staka (DK) and Hljómeyki (IS).
Finnur finished his bachelors degree in composition from The Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2012, where his main teachers were Úlfar Ingi Haraldsson and Atli Ingólfsson. Finnur’s music has been performed by Iceland Amateur Symphony Orchestra, Decoda, Staka, Caput, Nordic Chamber Soloists among other ensembles and choirs. Finnur currently lives in Copenhagen, where he studies composition at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. His main teachers at the RDAM are Hans Abrahamsen and Niels Rosing-Schow. |
