Music for Organs is a project by composers/artists Ragnhild May (1988 DK) and Stefan Maier (1990 CA)The duo work with instruments such as self-designed pipe organs, modular synthesizers and electronics and spatialized loudspeaker array. Using a large speaker array distributed variably throughout the building, and eliciting various psychoacoustic and bodily responses from listeners, the work exposes and subsequently choreographs the simultaneous sounding of multiple architectural and perceptual spaces. The interplay of disparate spatialities reveals a plurality of modes of located listening.
The duo premiered their work "Music for Organs" at the opening of G(O)NG Tomorrow 2015 and it received a Danish Arts Foundation award as an outstanding composition of 2016.
